People took off work and spent alot of money for hotels which are not cheap in AC , food some cases a babysitter.Not the first time they did it with short notice this tour. Seems like every show that mick has supposedly got ill were shows that had a poor ticket sales. shows a total lack of respect for the fans. Feel sorry for all of you stranded in AC with nothing to do except lose more money on the tables. But the bright side of all this is Alice Cooper will play tommorrow night at HOB. And he will be there. As he always is

I bought four ticketfast tix with ca$h ONLY because my sister refused to go to Atlantic City without a ticket in hand. Well, my sister CANCELED on me for the third time when I phoned to say I had secured tickets! Now, I am holding spare ticketfast tix that nobody wants & the gig is postponed. I THANK GOD I learned of the postponement literally scant minutes (I was about to snarf a microwave meal) before I was to depart work to hop on a Gayhound coach! I did NOT buy my ticket in advance so I am not out the funds for that travel ticket! I was able to stay at work and will reapply my leave for the date next month. I OWE A MASSIVE KISS TO BOTH CATHY & SANDY FOR THEIR RUMOR BUSTING POSTS! Tonight was to be my #1-2-3, 123rd Stones concert. Now it is NOT. I haven't seen the Stones @ AC since Dec 20, 1989. Plus, I have a postcard of the band from the S.W. Tour that I was gonna have postmarked. My position on the postponement is DEAL WITH IT! I am NOT going to rant or flame the band over this act of GOD. YES, I AM DISAPPOINTED, but, it IS what it IS! So don't be saying I wasn't going to go to the show!

Only had to travel about an hour and a half, but it was two days built around this show -- arranging time off of work, getting hotel rooms, food, transportation, etc. Were we upset when the hotel told us it was cancelled? Extremely. We could not be consoled for some time. But, in the end, there is absolutely no reason I nor anyone have any reason to doubt that the reason given is the truth of the matter. ONE, they don't just blow a show off because they have some others coming up, regardless of how high-profile they might be. There is absolutely no precident to base this on (although coming from someone like joephillystone, facts are never an issue). TWO -- and the quacks (excuse me, amateur doctors) can correct me here if I'm wrong -- but does Mick not have a history of larengitis/throat problems? I mean, it's not a debilitating illness or anything, but it's the whole reason they don't do back-to-back shows anymore. And, it's not even the first time it's happened on this tour, let alone previous tours. THREE, colder weather has really kicked in up here in the northeast this last week, and A LOT of people are getting sick. Believe it or not, many have soar throats and sound like dying horses when they talk. Sure, many are soldiering through and going to work, BUT THEY ARE NOT LEAD SINGERS IN THE WORLD'S GREATEST ROCK BAND!! When the tool you use to do your job is broke, you can't work. Simple as that. FOUR, as far as waiting so late, the most obvious conclusion that can be drawn here is that Mick either just came down with this (woke up with it), and he was hoping it would clear up. I mean, I'm pretty sure everyone here has had a sore throat from time to time. Sometimes, you wake up, your throat is scratchy, and as the morning and day progresses, it goes away. Then, of course, other times, it doesn't, and gets worse, and you're just plain sick. So, to me, it seems pretty obvious that Mick is sick. Just like regular humans get from time to time. I'm sure that makes me a Mick/Michael Cohl ass licker, but so be it. For some whose lives are so shallow that they get pleasure via flaming posts taunting people about what is a very disappointing evening, I guess this is a real treat. You actually have something to justify your pathetic little existence for an evening. Fortunately, it won't be long before you have to crawl back in your hole.

It's sad and depressing. I've suffered the loss of several Stones shows due to cancellation, and it's not a pretty picture. With that said, you shouldn't let comments from various board members rub you the wrong way. Most are probably just trying to lighten up a very dark situation, and whether they have merit or not, they should be allowed to vent their frustrations just as you have. Who really knows what the truth to this is ...maybe they're saying Mick has a sore throat as a cover up for Keith having flashbacks from falling out of a tree. Who knows? Only a very few people have let their anger rise to blot out rational thought, (not that people shouldn't be upset at the cancellation), such as, yes, Mick does have a history of laryngitis. Seems to me the great majority, including most of those Shidoobees in AC this evening, have been quite gracious and adapted the way Moondog suggested.

I drove over 3 hrs to get here today, had numerous scheuldes to rearrange to get my daughter to a softball tournament this weekend that is now going to be rained out & wasted a vacation day basically for nothing.. On the bright side (& yes, there is always a bright side.. You just have to look for it..) I saw many friends today, some that I haven't seen in a long time.. This is always a good thing.. + I hit $525 on the slot machines earlier.. Be upset & disappointed, but please take your bitching elsewhere!! I for one, am getting very tired of reading about it.. I'm not your therapist.. Please share this with him/her.. Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. If they do, that adds support to the Mick is really sick theory. If they don't, it adds support to the theory that they just blew it off because sales were slow in a relatively small venue anyway and they needed to concentrate on the NY shows.
