What a Mess
Cindy, thanks again for a great pre party. It was better than the one you put together in 2005. And this was one of the better ones for this current tour.

What a day! What a night!! I am blown away by the awesome
turnout at the Bookie's pre-party and the SPECTACULAR show that our Stones gave
us in Detroit!!
Thanks to all of you for coming out... I had such a BLAST partying with you!
I'm also SO grateful to Bookie's for the warm welcome and the fantastic
venue. So great seeing old friends and meeting new ones. And we had many
Stones/Shidoobee "virgins" on hand, which is always cool! Everywhere I looked there were huge smiles, laughter and hugs. Oh and a few
adult beverages were consumed as well, LOL. I believe we had between 150-200,
from Sweden, Australia, Finland, the UK, Germany, Canada and ALL OVER the USA!
So very cool...
And man did our Boys ever deliver the goods?! I can hardly get my thoughts
together... still on such a high! They simply ROCKED it from start to finish,
and several times I looked around and the whole crowd was on its feet, dancing
and singing all night! LOVED all of Mick's references to Detroit/Michigan...
"Any Yooper's?" And noting that they have been here 17 times... and
using his hand as a map to point out Detroit (well, sorta... but that's OK
Mick!) He mentioned the Detroit Tigers and Ernie Harwell. Laughed out loud when
he asked if anybody was here from Chicago and there was a loud chorus of boos!
And when he thanked the Detroit crowd at the end, I truly believe he really
meant it because the crowd was FANTASTIC!
The music.... oh my goodness what a setlist! At the pre-party, DetroitKen told
me he wanted to hear All Down the Line, and I told him I REALLY REALLY wanted
Moonlight Mile. BAM!
My favorite LIVE Stones song has always been Midnight Rambler and we got a
STELLAR version of it. Damn they rocked it! Moonlight Mile had me and my
daughter teary-eyed and hugging, LOL. Simply beautiful.
YCAGWYW.... ya know, I've heard this song a zillion times and reached a point
where I could take it or leave it. But last night, when that choir started up
(Oakland University Chorale), and the first few notes rang out, and the crowd
joined Mick in singing... I found myself once again teary-eyed. It was
magical... I forgot just how GREAT that song is.
LOVED getting Before They Make Me Run and Happy! Love me some KEEF!!
I'll end this where I started: what a day, what a night!!
