Ronnie and Bill exhibit in Netherlands
4 July 2006
AMSTERDAM Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood is to exhibit his artwork in Rotterdam and Amsterdam around the time of the band's Dutch concert, it was announced on Tuesday.
His paintings, etchings and silk-screen prints will be on display during the Ronnie Wood Art Show from 25 to 31 July at The White Space Amsterdam. The Stones play a concert in Amsterdam's ArenA stadium on 31 July.
The exhibition will be in Rotterdam art gallery V!P's from 2 to 9 August. Wood held an exhibition of his work in V!P's during the last Stones concert in the Netherlands three years ago. "V!P's has moved the premiere to Amsterdam, at the request of Wood, because the current tour is not coming to Rotterdam," the gallery said.
Wood's 'old mate' and ex-Stones bass player Bill Wyman comes to V!P's in September for the European premier of photographic exhibition 'Wyman Shoots'. It features photographs he took over the years while on tour with the Rolling Stones. The exhibition runs from 30 September to 29 October.
The Stones had originally scheduled two concerts in the Netherlands this summer. One was cancelled after guitarist Keith Richards suffered a head injury during a fall from a palm tree.
